School Photo Night in the Studio Next Week!!!

We are once again offering 10 minute slots for those wishing to have their children photographed in their school uniform and receive the same school packages at the same school prices.

Date: Monday November 2nd and Wednesday November 4th from 3:30-7pm.
Location: Our Studio at 81 Hinckley Road, Burbage, LE102AF (in our back garden)

This is available to anyone who missed their chance at their school or who don’t attend one of my schools but wish to have one of my portraits. We offer this because we know that sometimes children are ill or unavailable on school photo day and we recognise how important having this keepsake is for some families. We also occasionally hear from parents who aren't happy with their school photographer so I make these slots available to those families as well.

More than half the slots are already filled but there are still some space left if anyone wishes to book in for this.

You will be able to choose 2 images on the night which will be printed on a proof car…

Winner of the Master Photographers Association's UK Family Portrait Award

This year for the first time I decided to join the MPA (Master Photographers Association). As a qualified member this entitled me to compete amongst other professionals throughout the UK. I'll admit that I have never really regarded family groups as my strong suit. They are hard work and not always the most challenging creatively. Until now that is. This project which I consider to be a joint effort along with my clients involved much planning and creativity. Together we came up with th…

Christina Lauder Portraits Photographs a Wedding

This wedding was particularly special to me. The bride is a childhood friend of my step daughter's. So I've known her for many years. The first time I photographed her I believe she was 7. In recent years she has been working with me as a make up artist as well as a model on a couple of occasions. She is also the very first of my step daughter's friends to get married which is quite a milestone for me. So when her mum came to me and asked if I would photograph her wedding how could I refuse.

Its been ages since I photographed a wedding and to be honest I've only photographed a handful in my lifetime anyway.  Its not my cup of tea really. Too much pressure on the day and too little control when it comes to lighting and weather. Since focusing on studio portraits I've become very reliant on being able to control all the light in my images and with all the time in the world to get it just right.  Weddings are not like that. Not only is it more difficult to add light …
